Avatar: The Burning Earth

Avatar: The Burning EarthToday, Avatar: The Burning Earth for the Xbox 360 arrived in the mail today from GameFly. Normally, I wouldn’t have chosen this game, because I don’t know anything about the characters or storyline, and well, it looked stupid, but I had to witness for myself how easy it was to get the achievements. For the majority of my Xbox 360 ownership I never had more than 1000 achievement points. I think achievements are a great idea and while I never took them as seriously as some, I began to feel a little frustrated with how many points I had. So I decided to do something about it. I began renting games. Not just any games, but games that would get me achievement points without a lot of hassle.

Avatar: The Burning Earth was by far the easiest 1000 achievement points I ever earned. I literally got them in just a couple of minutes and on the first level! Clearly this game was aimed at kids because all I had to do was 50 hits and I got my 1000 points. After that, there really wasn’t any point in playing any further, I took the game out of my Xbox 360 and placed it back in the envelope to be mailed off tomorrow.

    Achievement Points List

  • The Flow of Combat I: Achieve a Hit Counter of 10 - 150G
  • The Flow of Combat II: Achieve a Hit Counter of 20 - 150G
  • The Flow of Combat III: Achieve a Hit Counter of 30 - 200G
  • The Art of Combat: Achieve a Hit Counter of 40 - 200G
  • One with Combat: Achieve a Hit Counter of 50 - 300G

Whether this was the intent of the developers or not, you almost couldn’t not get them within the first couple of minutes of game play. Thankfully not all games out there do this. I love earning easy achievements but this was ridiculous. So, if you’re achievement starved, get rent Avatar: The Burning Earth.
